BHOPAL: The High Court on Thursday declined to provide any relief to Congress spokesman KK Mishra on the ground that a revision petition challenging charges leveled against him in trial court is pending with the high court.
The high court also provided last chance to Mishra to argue the charge on the next hearing on March 8. The criminal revision petition filed by Mishra was on Thursday listed before a division bench, comprising Justice Rajendra Menon (acting chief justice) and Justice Anjuli Palo.
The petitioner had made given a few statements to the press alleging involvement of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his wife Sadhna Singh in transport inspectors’ recruitment through Vyapam. The trial court had framed the charges on February 4.
Mishra filed revision petition in the high court. The counsel for the petitioner prayed for time to argue the matter. The high court directed the matter to be listed on March 8, as a last chance to Mishra to argue the matter, while clarifying that the trial court is free to proceed in the matter.
Deputy Advocate General Purshendra Kaurav said, “ High Court clearly told KK Mishra that trial court will continue its trial and hearing even though revision petition has been filed against the charges in High Court. Secondly, the high court has given last chance for argument on March 8.”
