Bhopal: Hamidia Hospital to get hi-tech cancer therapy machine

Bhopal: Hamidia Hospital will soon be equipped with a latest hi-tech therapy machine for cancer patients. Currently, the machine at the government hospital is outdated and fails to give desired result. The hospital administration has moved a proposal in this regard. In hospital administration is all set to strengthen its cancer unit to provide basic quality treatment to patients. In the name of Cancer department, the medical facility has only radiotherapy department, which has 30-35 beds ward. A single Cobalt machine installed at the unit is over 35-year old. The outmoded machine frequently goes out of order and also do not give the proper results. With the installation of latest machine, the patients here will no longer have to go to private hospitals for the therapy. The cancer patient will be able to get basic quality treatment at the government hospital.

Hamidia Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr AK Shrivastava confirmed that a new machine will be installed at the cancer unit of the hospital in next few months.  It is a new high-tech machine. We are not getting proper results with present machine and it is high maintenance. There is no need to waste money on the outdated machine and so we have moved a proposal to higher ups for latest machine and soon we will have it,” said the superintendent. At Hamidia Hospital’s new building, latest hi-tech machines are being installed in almost all the departments to provide best of treatment to the patients, said Shrivastava, adding that the administration has hired and even appointed experts in to look into upgrading the medical facilities and services at the hospital. An entire unit of cancer should come up at the hospital as this will enable the patients to get full treatment and they will no longer have to go to private hospitals. The adminsitrtation will do its best to provide quality treatment and services to the patients,” said Shrivastava.
