BHOPAL: ‘Green tax’ will be levied on old vehicles in the state. This decision was taken in the meeting of senior secretaries at Mantralaya on Thursday. One percent green tax will be levied on commercial vehicles older than 7 years and non-commercial vehicles older than 15 years. Life time tax will be levied on the vehicles which a capacity of 12 tons or more. At present, it is levied quarterly or yearly basis. At present, tax is collected 10 per cent of cost of Commercial vehicles and 7 per cent of cost of non-commercial vehicles.
