Bhopal: At a time when the GMC is talk of the town for all wrong reasons in view of increasing cases of ragging on the campus, a group of senior students met medical education commissioner on Monday and filed a complaint against a hostel warden for harassing them. Gandhi Medical College 2012 to 2016 batch in their complaint against the ‘F’ block hostel warden Dr Sudhir Pal Singh, have accused the warden of pressurising students of 2017 batch to file ragging cases against their seniors.

They alleged that the warded was frequently changing their rooms for unknown reasons. They also accused the warden of breaking into their rooms and taking away the belongings including valuables like laptop mobile and others objects. For the reasons best known to him, the warden throws the students’ belongings outside the room, they complained.

Stating that Singh is not the warden of block ‘B’ and ‘C’, the students said that even then he keeps interfering with their issues. Some of the students also accused the warded of forcefully taking money from them. “He took Rs 300 from every student, but didn’t give any receipt,” alleged one student.

Recently the case was filed in the Anti Ragging Committee, against the four students of three different batches. One of the students claims that he was out of the city and his name had been mentioned in the complaint. Besides, on September 22, the students of 2017 batch had written to the college dean that no such ragging incident had taken place and stated that someone had filed fake complaint in their names.
