Bhopal: Former BJYM president Pateria to join Congress

The spell of political leaders shifting their loyalties ahead of Lok Sabha elections continues. Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, former president Dheeraj Pateria on Monday announced to join Congress. Pateria had turned rebel and contested assembly elections from Jabalpur (north) seat as independent. He was later expelled from the BJP. Pateria is going to take membership of Congress on Tuesday before Congress national president Rahul Gandhi.

The talks between Congress candidate from Jabalpur Vivek Tankha and Pateria over joining Congress were on for some days. Pateria after discussion with Chief Minister Kamal Nath and former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh decided to join Congress.

On the other hand, district panchayat, former vice president, Vrindawan Sikarwar too on Monday took membership of Congress in presence of MP Jyotiraditya Scindia. Meanwhile, Narendra Singh Kushwaha, candidate of Samajwadi Party from Bhind is going to join BJP. Recently, Rakesh Choudhary, who contested on BJP’s ticket from this area, joined Congress.
