Bhopal: The financial condition of BJP is declining after losing power in the state. While in power BJP organisation had never bothered to manage its expenses but now phrases like curtailment in expenses is gaining currency. The expenses in BJP organisation were managed with the permission of ex-CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and state president.
With BJP out of the government, Chouhan’s role in expenses of party organisation has ended. State president Rakesh Singh is solely authorised for party’s expenses. The financial crunch is being faced by the party members right from the BJP headquarters to district-level offices of the party.
Generally, BJP leaders say that expenses were met through money collected from lifetime contribution fund. The shortage of money in the party indicates that there were other sources of money to manage the expenses of the party organisation. The party may put a check on the expenses of its leaders after Lok Sabha polls.
Pending payment
The party has not made payments for the works done during assembly polls. The bills of crores of rupees of the works done during assembly polls are still pending for payment. The bills of BJP leaders of their daily expenses are also stuck in BJP office for payment.
‘Conditions, when BJP was in power, were different’
National organisational general secretary Ramlal in a meeting on Lok Sabha preparations on Wednesday told party leaders of morchas, units and districts to arrange for the expenses of the programmes, themselves. Ramlal said the conditions, when the party was in power, were different but now the expenses should be met on their own.
