Elder brother of former BJP minister Rajendra Shukla, Vinod Shukla joined Congress in presence of CM and Congress state president Kamal Nath. Vinod Shukla joined Congress along with several other BJP men including former district vice president of Satna Rashmi Singh Patel, former BJP mandal president of Maihar Dheeraj Pandey and others.
Ex- LoP Ajay Singh, who played important role in bringing Vinod into Congress was present besides ministers Lakhan Ghanghoria and PC Sharma were also present. Several other BJP office bearers from Vindhya region also joined the Congress. Retired major general Shyam Shrivastava, who trains aspirants to join army also joined Congress party. CM Kamal Nath said that the BJP is being exposed in front of the voters every day. Congress believes in uniting while the BJP believes in dividing therefore people are now being attracted towards the Congress.
