Bhopal: Besides BJP, some of Congressmen are also creating a fuss over the ‘party’s CM Face’ in state, admitted PCC chief Arun Yadav here on Tuesday. Yadav’s admission came during an interaction with media persons here on Tuesday. The party unit chief looked quite piqued over the speculations and repeated questions on Congress’ chief ministerial candidate in state.
Member of parliament Kamal Nath is among the frontrunners. Accusing BJP of conspiracy against the Congress, Yadav said “The ruling party wants to create a rift in Congress as it is promoting new names every day. While some are for former chief minister Digvijay Singh, there are others who are criticising him.”
He also lashed out at his own party leaders for raising up the issue repeatedly. “The supporters of a leader come out promoting his name, there are others who want their leader to be projected as CM face of the party in the state,” exclaimed Yadav.
“It’s Congress internal matter to decide on the CM Face, if the party national president Rahul Gandhi does not want to declare the name now, why are BJP people so concern over it,” he questioned. The Congressmen are well aware of the party discipline but even they are then they are joining the rival forces in raising the issue, he added.
Leader of opposition Ajay Singh also stated, “AICC president Rahul Gandhi is the face of MP and also of nation, the election of 2018 will be contested in the leadership of the national president.”
