BHOPAL: A team of Economic Offence Wing is likely to head for Haryana soon to ‘arrest’ BK Kuthiala, the former vice chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication.

EOW would first seek the opinion of local doctors before bringing the former VC to state capital. Kuthiala has been booked for fraud, criminal breach of trust and criminal conspiracy.

The director general KN Tiwari informed that EOW had summoned Kuthiala twice to get his statement recorded. Citing health grounds, the former VC has been evading coming to the EOW office here and instead is approaching court.

The DG informed that Kuthiala had submitted a medical certificate that he was unable to appear before EOW as he was unable to travel because of sever back pain.

The medical certificate was sent to the local doctor for the examination, and almost a week gas passed, but the expert is still to file his opinion on the certificate.

The DG informed that a team will soon leave for Haryana and seek help of a local doctor to examine Kuthiala’s health condition. If the doctors suggest that he was fit to travel than the former VC would be brought to Bhopal and if not, the staff would register his statements there itself, he added.
