Bhopal: Elderly man robbed off Rs 7.10 Lakh

Bhopal: An elderly businessman was robbed off his bag containing cash Rs 7.10 lakh on Monday. According to Shahjahanabad police, the victim Kailash Chand Sahu, is a native of Indore, he had come to Hanumanganj to meet the traders in the area and to collect money from them in the evening.

He was riding a two-wheeler for reaching Halalpura bus stand when at around 11:30 pm two youths swooped in on them and snatched his bag. He was riding pillion and his friend Shankar Rajani aka Lalu was riding the two-wheeler. He told police that the two accused were riding parallel to them when the pillion rider snatched his bag. He held the bag so tightly that the accused managed to flee with the bag only when the handle of the bag severed.

The two elderly men then chased the accused their scooter for over ten minutes. The accused rode inside the nearby colonies and the victims kept chasing them for over ten minutes inside the lanes and by-lanes of the area. However, they failed to find them and even could not note the registration number or model of bike. They then reached Shahjahanabad police station after which a team of police led by CSP and SHO of the police station reached the area and took them to the crime scene. A case has been registered and search is on to nab the accused.
