Bhopal: Election Commission of India has sought information from chief secretary of MP regarding ministers Paras Jain and Deepak Joshi on the office of profit issue. The Aam Admi Party filed a petition before the governor, seeking disqualification of the two.
It is claimed that Jain and Joshi have obtained benefits from MP Bharat Scouts and Guides, as commissioner and deputy chairman of the organisation respectively. The governor forwarded the complaint to ECI, which has now asked the CS in its letter dated June 12 about the details.
ECI has asked the notification of the appointment including the notes and orders of minister Paras Jain as chief commissioner and minister Deepak Joshi as deputy chairman.
Details of remuneration in form of salary, allowances, sitting fees and others apart from other facilities like government accommodation, staff car, transport allowances and others have been sought.
Copies of note and orders of the government creating the offices, post of Bharat Scouts and Guides, appointment letter of the MLAs, nature of duties assigned to the MLAs, details about the office given and supporting staff provided to them have also been sought.
