BHOPAL: A youth scaled a mobile tower in an inebriated condition on Tuesday evening. Police rescued him with the help of a hydraulic machine. He has been arrested under section 309 of the IPC on the charge of attempt to commit suicide. He has not told police the reason why did he climb up the tower.
After he was seen mounted on the tower local people started gathering. Police team immediately rushed with hydraulic machine to bring him down. Before climbing the mobile tower, he had doused himself in kerosene. As per the police, history sheeter Monu Joshi, 27, son of Udham Joshi, resident of Bharat Talkies locality, climbed up the mobile tower at Pull-Patra in the evening. Passers-by informed the police. Police team rushed with hydraulic platform and Joshi was interrogated about the reason behind his this act.
SHO Jahangirabad Preetam Singh Thakur said, “Joshi is heavily addicted to liquor consumption and in an inebriated condition, he climbed up the mobile tower. He has been arrested for attempting to commit suicide. He has not told the police why he climbed the tower.”
