BHOPAL: The Directorate of Medical Education is working overtime to identify the students whose admissions were cancelled by the Supreme Court on Monday. Vyapam had cancelled the admissions of 634 students selected in PMTs 2008-2012. In Jabalpur medical college, 42 students such students were admitted but only 20 are studying now.
In Indore medical college the admissions of 29 students will be cancelled. One of them Namrata Damor, had died under mysterious circumstances. Vyapam had cancelled the admissions of 1087 students selected from 2008 to 2013 through two orders – one issued in 2013 and the other in 2014.
The year-break up of the number of admissions cancelled is as PMT 2008 (42 admissions), 2009 (85), 2010 (90), 2011 (98) , 2012 (333) and 2013 (439) .
Holidays cancelled
Commissioner, medical education has cancelled the second Saturday and Sunday holidays of the officers of DME to cope with the heavy work load due to SC decision and the upcoming budget session of the Assembly. The employees are already working till late in the night.
