BHOPAL: A DIG rank officer who is serving in Bhopal had a narrow escape after the government vehicle he was travelling in overturned on Tuesday morning.
According to information, former Indore DIG Harinarayan Chari sustained minor injuries in the road mishap whereas three others including gunman and driver of car along with scooter rider got injured.
The incident occurred when his driver tried save a two-wheeler rider near a crematorium in BRTS corridor under Koh-e-Fiza police station The two-wheeler rider is undergoing treatment at a private hospital where his condition is reported to be serious.
According to Kohefiza police, the incident occurred at around 10:45pm when IPS officer Harinarayan Chari was coming to Bhopal after meeting his family in Indore in his government white colour car (MP-03-A-5266) with his driver and gunman-Lakhan Singh and guard Dinesh. Near Christian crematorium, when an elderly man riding brown colour Activa (MP-04-SW-2958) suddenly came in-front of their vehicle while taking a turn and in a bid to save him, the car driver suddenly applied breaks and the air bags were open but the vehicle after hitting Activa scooter then rammed into BRTS divider and turned upside down and the front portion of car including its bonnet and windscreen was completely damaged.
Chari who did not sustain any external injuries was also rushed to hospital as he sustained internal injuries injured whereas the man who was critically injured as one of his leg was fractured was then rushed to Chirayu hospital at Bhainsakhedi and his identity was established as 66-year-old Rajendra Kumar Nayak, a retired railway employee who lived in S-Block, 205 of Chirayu campus as his son work in hospital.
