BHOPAL: Students from Delhi visited Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS) on Friday had a glimpse of rock-art heritage that displays rock shelters with stunning prehistoric paintings.
Students of M.Sc. (Environment Management) and (Natural Resources Management) from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi paid visit to Tribal Habitat open-air exhibition and had a glimpse of cultural traditions which are on the verge of extinction.
Young students visited exhibitions developed with traditional knowledge and ethical values combined with modern society. Prodyut Bhattacharya, professor, Natural Resources Management said, “A primary role of Museum of Man is to engage and educate the community.” During their visit the students were guided by Surya Kumar Pandey, P Shankara Rao and Sudeepa Roy of IGRMS.
Change in visiting hours
The visiting hours of IGRMS has changed from Friday. As per new timings effective from March 1 to August 31, for all the open air and indoor exhibitions of the museum will remain open from 11.00 am to 6.30 pm. It will remain closed on Mondays and all National Holidays.
