On Rang Panchami, police personnel were deployed around city lakes Lake to ensure that revelers do not pollute water bodies while celebrating the festival. Upper Lake, Lower Lake and Kaliyasot, Kerwa and other lakes were under the watchful eyes of the police personnel the entire day. On Monday, police personnel were seen patrolling around the Upper Lake through the day making sure no one pollutes the water which caters to the requirement of thousands of city households.
Learning lesson from past, the administration was on the guard to make sure that unlike last years, the holi revelers do not come close to water bodies. Earlier, the residents after playing holi would come to upper lake for bathing thus polluting the water and risking the health of others. The administration was all the more conscious keeping in view the receding water level of the lake.
In past there accidents were also reported near the lank and the administration was on toes to endure repetition of any such mishap. Inspector general (IG) Bhopal Jaideep Prasad said in the past there were incidents when drunken revelers created nuisance near lake and put life of self and others at risk. We also wanted to ensure that no one pollute water bodies so we avoid all this police personnel were deployed.
