BHOPAL: The volunteers of COPS (Clean Our Planet Society) gathered at Swarna Jayanti Park in Shahpura and conducted a cleanliness drive on Sunday. Armed with garbage bags, as many as 12 volunteers hit the park, a hotspot of joggers, to clean it. In the two-hour drive, waste including gutka pouches, rags, shattered bottles, chips and chocolate wrappers etc were collected and properly discarded.
Interestingly, the small effort managed to catch the attention of onlookers and bystanders too. Some appreciated the cause and discussed about the importance of informing people about the harmful effect of plastic, some came forward to extend a helping hand while some others clicked photographs of the volunteers busy at work. This was the fifth cleanliness drive conducted by Clean Our Planet Society following successful events at Boat Club, Sair Sapata, Kerwa Jungle Camp and Manuabhan Ki Tekri.
