Congress party is totally focusing on urban seats in the last days of assembly polls, while the BJP is concentrating on managing caste equations on rural seats. Congress feels that it may get more seats in rural areas relatively. That has made Congress making its leaders active on urban seats.
The slums coming in urban seats are the main focus. Corporators have been asked to remain active in their areas. It is generally said that BJP has good hold on urban seats. Congress fears that if BJP performs well in urban areas, akin to Gujarat elections, than it may raise problems for the Congress. This has made Congress deputing its leaders in urban areas. Congress state office is taking report of the party’s condition on all urban seats.
This condition is faced by the BJP in rural areas. BJP fears that the announcements made by the Congress for farmers and caste equations may damage its poll prospects. BJP has asked its leaders to remain alert in rural areas. BJP would talk to all its booth in-charges in rural areas for the coming three days.
BJP is unsure on some seats in rural areas because of caste equations and its leaders turning rebels. A special strategy is being prepared for these seats. BJP national organizational general secretary Ramlal on Friday spoke to several state leaders and took feedback. Ramlal also spoke to party leaders in rural areas on local equations and issues.
