Senior officials including secretary and principal secretary of school education department will take decision whether or not to change calendar of summer vacations, in wake of the soaring temperatures. Recent order issued by collector Jabalpur has been revoked after objection from higher authorities of school education department. Another order was issued by collector Rewa to change timings of schools.
Demand from Bhopal and other cities were also made by parents that considering soaring temperatures schools should be closed ahead of their scheduled summer vacation. However, higher officials of the school education department said that collectors can only send proposal while the decision lies in the hands of school education department. In Bhopal, district education officer, Dharmendra Sharma said that for now in Bhopal district schools will function till 12 noon.
