BHOPAL : Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has assured financial help to businessmen in Bairagarh by providing more compensation than what is mentioned in Revenue Book Circular (RBC). The RBC provides maximum compensation of Rs 12,000.
On Monday, CM visited Bairgarh to meet businessmen who suffered huge loss due to fire, which gutted over 150 shops in Saint Hirdaram Commercial complex on December 17. The district administration assessed the damage and submitted report mentioning damage of Rs 72 crore. CM asked businessmen to form a committee comprising traders and local MLA for talks with state government on the issue.
Area corporator and Mayor-in-Council (MiC) member Krishna Mohan Soni said, “ During CM’s visit, the traders told him that insurance companies are not cooperating. So, CM instructed collector to look into matter. CM also said that bankers would be instructed to be reasonable with loan rates. CM told traders to constitute a committee with MLA for the talks.”
As the traders were not satisfied with compensation of Rs 72 crore, they expressed concern with MLA Rameshwar Sharma when he visited the area to assess the damage. Traders had told Rameshwar Sharma that they will let him know the extent of damage after assessment.
The damage assessment survey conducted by district administration was based on shops. But there were many vendors who ran kiosks from corridors with the support of shop owners. Administration’s survey did not cover them.
