BHOPAL: An accessibility workshop was organised by the School of Planning and Architecture here on Friday in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Centre for Human Centric Research.
In her keynote address at the inaugural function, the chief guest former IAS officer Nirmala Buch stressed on making cities inclusive. She said that due to lack of awareness among architects and planners, people with disabilities, the elderly and the women have to face problems. Prof. Rohit Trivedi from Sarojini Naidu Govt. Girls PG College, Bhopal was also present.
The programme was conducted by Prof. Sandeep Sankat and a vote of thanks was proposed by Shweta Vardia. The welcome speech was given by Dean Academics, Dr. Ajay Khare. Prof. Parma Mitra gave an introduction of the disabilities and other functional limitations.
