Bhopal: Children emergency unit at JP Hospital to prevent child deaths

BHOPAL: Public health and family welfare minister Rustam Singh inaugurated children emergency unit at JP Hospital on Tuesday to improve the emergency facilities for children. The emergency unit has been designed to meet all the needs of emergency treatment for children like paediatric chamber ward, paediatric size oxygen mask, paediatric IV cannula, medicines and trained doctors to treat emergency paediatric cases. For the Paediatric Emergency Triage Assessment and Treatment (ETAT), a special training will also be given to casualty duty doctors and nurses for treatment of children by doctors of paediatric department of AIIMS, Bhopal. The facility of the separate emergency unit for children is aimed at reducing child deaths due to delayed treatment and this unit will focus on providing the best treatment during emergency.
