BHOPAL: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, responding to a query of Rajesh Mishra, director, culture at a meeting of bureaucrats organised to review preparations for the upcoming Assembly session here on Thursday, said only such assurances should be given in the Assembly which can be fulfilled. Otherwise roundabout replies should be given.
Mishra, at the meeting, listed the assurances not yet fulfilled. He said the then Culture minister Laxmikant Sharma had assured the House in 2011 that the statue of Vagdevi would be brought from London Museum and would be installed at Bhojshala in Dhar. Mishra said this assurance was permanently in the category of unfulfilled assurances. Chouhan said that the House should be told that “efforts are being made to bring back the statue”.
Chouhan, on the issues related to mining department, said all cases related with illegal mining should be disposed of before the session so that there should be no problem in smooth conduct of the House. Additional chief secretary Iqbal Singh Bains said five questions on Happiness Department have been put up in the House. Chouhan said he would reply to the questions related with the happiness department.
He said the House should be apprised of the achievements of the government. Chouhan said that governments are accountable to the legislature. All required information should be provided within the time limit and should be factual. He said all the Bills should be put up in the Assembly in time.
