Bhopal: Political activities have intensified in the state after CBI initiating investigations in I-T raids against confidantes of Chief Minister Kamal Nath. Nath had a discussion with acting advocate general Shashank Shekhar on Saturday over the issue. According to information, the CBI may begin investigations by filling primary enquiry (PE) in this matter. On the other hand, the state government is mulling over writing to Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) of the Union government against the CBI going for the PE. The state government is considering this action on the basis of a notification issued in 2012.
As per this notification, the CBI could not investigate against IAS, IPS and IFS officers without taking consent of the state government. In the letter written by I-T department, there is mention of 11 departments which were charged money. These departments have IAS officers posted there and that is why the government is contemplating on checking the CBI to initiate investigations. According to sources, the names of officers figure in the appraisal report prepared by the I-T department.
