BHOPAL: Despite its beautiful location, the Char Imli Park has been turned into a parking lot. Needless to say, parking should not be at the cost a park. The sprawling area can be developed into a full-fledged park for children to play and adults to relax or take morning or evening walks.
The local residents, of course, do not want it to happen as they would lose parking space. Prakash Jain said, “The locality has been deprived of the park as the area is being utilised for parking. The park has been killed for personal interest of the residents.”
Ritesh Goswami said, “It is lethargic attitude on the part of the authorities concerned that they are allowing a beautiful location to be used for parking. It should be developed as a children’s park with installation of slides and swings.”
Subhash Singh said, “Local residents should also raise their voice unitedly to demand development of the entire area as a park. But they are unwilling as most have three or four vehicles which cannot be accommodated in the garages provided for the residents.
Vijay Kesherwani said, “The BMC should immediately swing into action and develop the area as a park for the benefit of the people living around. Parking has become a headache for the residents and it should not be at the cost of the park.”
