BHOPAL: The state Cabinet, on Tuesday, approved the land allotment policy for micro, small and medium-scale enterprises to encourage cluster-based small industrial units to boost employment. The ministerial council permitted a new rule for allotment of land to micro, small and medium industrial units. This will be called Management Law-2021 for allotment of land to MSMEs.
According to the new law, there is a provision for giving development charges of Rs 150 a square metre. Once the land is developed and the policy is implemented, the development charges will be at par with the ones being paid for the overall development costs of that industrial area. There are provisions that the land/plots of land will be allotted through online auction process. The timing for process of allotment and for appeal has been halved.
The department sheds will be given on rent. Giving the details of the decisions taken by the council of ministers, minister Om Prakash Sachlecha said that, for the first time, industrialists would get an opportunity to develop self-designed clusters on urban land and on non-urban land.
The developers will be given only 25% of un-irrigated land to develop plots for these clusters. The developers will be able to bring the investors to the clusters on their own.
The new policy will help the state develop clusters for producing pharmaceuticals, toys, furniture and other items that will generate employment. Under the new rule, the process for allotment of land has been made very simple and a time-limit has been fixed for it.
