Bhopal: Be prepared for third Covid wave, Shivraj Singh Chouhan tells his ministers

“As unlock process has started, chief minister has instructed all the ministers to keep reviewing the situation of their districts and take necessary decisions in dealing with Covid,” said Narottam Mishra, spokesperson of Madhya Pradesh government.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): unlocking begins in a phased manner, the state government has begun preparations to deal with a third wave of deadly pandemic if it hits the state.

A decision to prepare for the third wave of Covid was taken at a cabinet meeting held virtually on Tuesday. While addressing the meeting, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the possibility of a third wave of Covid cannot be ruled out. “He asked us to keep preparing for the third wave if it hits the state. He also asked not to take any chances while dealing with second wave,” said a minister wishing anonymity.

For the purpose, the government has decided to hold crisis management committee meeting every week to review the Covid situations in the state.

State government spokesperson Narottam Mishra said chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had asked all ministers to stay in their respective districts. “As unlock process has started, chief minister has instructed all the ministers to keep reviewing the situation of their districts and take necessary decisions in dealing with Covid,” Mishra said while briefing the cabinet decision.

Chief minister has also asked group of ministers to consult with educationists and look for alternative arrangements, so that studies of students can continue.

Besides, the state cabinet also approved new MSME policy under which more than 3,000 business clusters will be developed in the next two months.
