BHOPAL: A body of a middle-aged man was found inside an unused car of a doctor serving in a government hospital. The car was lying unused in Nehru Nagar area for last few days but no one noticed the body inside it. It was only on lazy Sunday afternoon when locals at complaining foul smell emanating from car, spotted body inside it. According to Kamla Nagar police, identity of the deceased has not been established yet, the body was sent for postmortem. The car, shifted to Kamla Nagar police station, belongs to Dr Neelam Gupta, who works with the state-run JP Hospital. Dr Gupta resides in Jain Tower, where the car was found parked. Locals had called the police on spotting the body inside the car.
Gupta owns three cars and had not been using the said car, from which the body was recovered, for last few days. The doctor said that she has no clue as who, when and why dumped a body inside her unused car. The man seems to have died four days ago. Police are ascertaining if he committed suicide inside the car or was murdered inside it, or his body was placed inside the car after he was killed elsewhere. On Sunday late afternoon, locals complained of foul smell emanating from a parked car. One of the persons visiting nearby roadside liquor shop spotted the body inside the car. And the matter was then reported to Kamla Nagar police. Police have registered a case and sent the body for postmortem. Additional superintendent of police (ASP) Zone 1 Sanjay Sahu when contacted said that the statement of Dr Gupta is yet to be taken, police after registering the case have started the investigation.
