BHOPAL: The Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre will soon empanelled super specialty private hospitals and will bear the cost of the treatment of the gas victims in these facilities.
The minister of state for gas tragedy relief and rehabilitation Vishwas Sarang informed a press conference that joint secretary of government of India Manoj Panth has visited the BMHRC and taken note of the shortcomings in the hospital.
He claimed that in the meeting it was decided that the patients who need better treatment would be shifted to empanelled private hospitals.
For the cancer treatment three hospitals have been empanelled including Navoday hospital. For the MRI, CT scan and other the centres will be empanelled.
It is also suggested that the post graduation course can be started in the hospital; the PG course will ensure good number of doctors in the hospital.
Presently in three streams like pathology and neurology the study can be started. The course can be started from next academic session 2017-18.
Presently there are 17 departments in the hospital. The minister said that the number of departments will be increased and that doctors would be recruited within six months.
