Bhopal: Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) will develop Goshala and special crematorium for stray cows, informed Mayor Alok Sharma while speaking to businessmen and locals in Chowk market area on Wednesday. Cattle found roaming on streets will be seized and taken to these Goshalas run by BMC, said Sharma.

BMC commissioner B Vijay Dutta, municipal members including Sanjeev Gupta were present on the occasion. The Mayor said that Goshalas are required as lactating cows and others need care and protection. Goshalas will be used to keep such cows which are not owned by anyone while the other cows which are owned will be taken to Kanji houses and their owners will be fined for letting their animals loose, Mayor said. The seized cows would only be handed over to its owner on paying a definite fine, he added.
