Bhopal: BJP leaders sang Vande Mataram in front of Mantralaya Park on Monday. Congress government had earlier stopped the singing of Vande Matram outside Mantralaya on the first day of the month. This led to former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announce that singing of Vande Mantram would be done on the first day of state Assembly session.
The state government latter decided to continue singing of Vande Matram on the first day of the month. Now, a march past would also be taken out from Shaurya Smarak. Chouhan, after singing Vande Mataram, said Congress decided to continue Vande Matram under the duress of BJP. He said we have cancelled our march as the Congress government had fulfilled our demands.
Chouhan said nothing is above the nation and the nationalism. Vande Mataram was not only a song but it is also synonymous with patriotism. Vande Mataram hails Mother India. Chouhan said we sing this song with the feeling of our country’s progress, its glory and fame.
Earlier, BJP MLAs and party workers reached Mantralaya on Monday at 10am. Former state president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan, former minister Narottam Mishra, Bhupendra Singh, former assembly speaker Sitasharan Sharma, mayor Alok Sharma, district president Surendranath Singh, state vice president Vijesh Lunawat, along with BJP MLAs and the party workers were present.
