BHOPAL: A video showing Jabalpur superintendent of police (SP) Amit Singh and minister for social justice Lakhan Ghanghoria dancing in a marriage function has gone viral. BJP has filed a complaint with Election Commission seeking shifting of the SP saying that he shares proximity with Congress minister and so might not discharge his duties impartially during elections. The video, though was shot prior to the model code of conduct coming into effect.
The video shows Ghanghoria and Singh dancing at a marriage function of son of IPS officer Tilakraj Singh. BJP state vice president Vijesh Lunawat has claimed that the video clearly showed close relations of Congress leaders with Singh. The BJP leaders in their complaint have claimed that false cases were filed against the BJP candidate during assembly polls. They alleged that Singh had worked for the benefit of Congress candidate during assembly polls.
They further alleged that Singh would not be able to work impartially during elections and thus, he should be shifted. Lunawat said it is necessary to shift the officers whose credentials are suspicious, so that Lok Sabha elections could be held transparently. Meanwhile, BJP leaders have also claimed that the Congress government got their party office at Gwalior vacated to take revenge.
Commission should review transfers: LoP
Leader of opposition Gopal Bhargava has also written to chief electoral officer VL Kantarao to review transfers made. Bhargava wrote that transfers were made in back dates and the transfers orders were not execute which has created an atmosphere of corruption and bribery. Bhargava claimed that transfer policy was ignored and transfers were made to settle political scores. Bhargava citing examples, claimed that NRHM, director, Nishant Warvade was transferred as secretary, Human Rights Commission but he has not been relieved yet. Bhargava claimed that Warvade was continuing at the place from where he was transferred. Bhargava demanded to take action in this matter.
