Bhopal: A 63-year-old woman ophthalmologist was relieved of her purse carrying cash, mobile phone and other valuables by a bike-borne miscreant near the smart parking in TT Nagar area on Friday night. The complainant Dr Geetika Nigam is a resident of Rivera Town and runs an eye clinic- Aastha in Nehru Nagar area. Her husband Ashok Kumar Nigam who was also doctor has passed away. In her complaint to the TT Nagar police she stated that on Friday around 8pm, she along with her nephew Aditya Nigam and niece Alankrita Nigam had gone to New Market for shopping and here she parked her silver colour Zen car (MP04-CF-8964) in smart parking and they went to shopping in the market area.
At around 9pm while she was heading towards smart parking, near post office when she was taking out car keys from her purse, a bike-borne accused came from nowhere and after pushing her, he snatched away purse from her hand and fled away towards Katju hospital. As the incident took place within nick of time, she could not see the face of accused as well as registration number of the bike. She raised an alarm for help but till then the accused escaped from the spot.
