Bhopal: State Congress president Arun Yadav has demanded that the Ater and Bandhavgarh by-elections should be held using ballot papers. Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were not dependable and they could be fixed, he alleged.
Arun Yadav alleged in a press conference, here on Tuesday, that in every election many complaints were coming in which the EVMs were fixed. To conduct free and fair elections, the Election Commission should arrange ballot papers in place of EVMs.
He alleged they had filed the objection with the EC to remove the SP and collector of Bhind, because they were the well-wishers of the BJP and they might affect the election result. Names of candidates will be declared very shortly, Yadav added. He claimed the Congress was going to win the by-election as well as assembly election of 2018 and Lok Sabha election of 2019.
He also claimed that in the leadership of vice-president of AICC Rahul Gandhi, the party had won the elections of three states, including Goa, Manipur and Punjab. He alleged the governors of the states were not calling the Congress to form the government, but were inviting the Bharatiya Janata Party for the same.
