BHOPAL: As part of the student exchange programme with Department of Social Work, the Social Work and Human Resource Management students of Anand Institute of Social Work, Gujarat visited the Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS). The programme was from January 6 to 11. While interacting with the students the Principal of BSSS Fr. Dr. John P.J emphasised the need of Social Work intervention in today’s scenario. He mentioned that student exchange programmes will enhance the knowledge and understanding of various fields of social work and also cross state learning experience for the students. Sheeba Joseph (HOD) gave an orientation about the college and the various activities of the department. She highlighted the thrust of social work and the scope in the contemporary society.
The students visited World Vision India, SAMARTHAN, Sambhavana Trust Clinic and Remembering Bhopal Museum in the Community Development sector; Bhaskar Industries in Human Resource Management Sector; Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC) and AIIMS in Medical & Psychiatry; SOS Children’s Village and SOS Village for Specially Able in Child Welfare sector.
