BHOPAL: The meeting of the MP Kisan Congress called to corner the NDA government, tuned into an exercise of self realisation and criticism, here on Saturday. The Kisan Congress submitted a memorandum to the governor addressed to the President of India. The farmer leaders gathered at the PCC and raised the voice against the NDA government lead by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the meeting the agriculture minister Sachin Yadav, public relation minister PC Sharma, tribal welfare minister Omkar Singh Markam and many other MLAs and office bearers of Congress party were present.

Meanwhile Rewa unit president Surendra Pathak asked the leaders “While distributing the tickets why don’t you people ask suggestions from us.” The statement led to a volley of questions from the other leaders also. While Pathak alleged “In the party two types of leaders are there- one who establishes while leader of other type displaces. The leader who gets the ticket, doesn’t listen to anyone, the party need total renovation.” MP Kisan Congress vice president and spokesperson Firoz Siddique said that the meeting was called to assess the Lok Sabha election results.

The president of Rewa unit has expressed his thoughts and the party will think about the suggestions. The organisation members submitted a memorandum to the governor and alleged that the NDA government is biased against the farmers of the Madhya Pradesh. The state president Dinesh Gurjer alleged that the Central Government is not giving allocation to the state in many accounts. He claimed that the GoI has given consent to purchase 75 lakh metric ton wheat, but now they have stopped payment after purchase of 67 lakh metric tons. It is demanded to provide the payment of 8 lakh metric ton which is Rs 15,00 crore so that the farmers can be paid. The leader alleged that the Government had not paid Rs 1000 of the Bhavantar scheme; the farmers of the state are still waiting for the amount.

The farmers demanded that minimum support price for crops be set after adding 50 per cent as profit margin to the cost of cultivation. The leaders demanded to that import of the pulses be banned as the state as well as the nation produces adequate grains and pulses. They alleged that the Central Government is procured the pulses from the other countries and as a result the farmer are not getting the proper price. The farmers demanded Rs 8000 as a MSP of Moong as the crop is one the major crop of the state. The leaders also warned that if the GoI fails to accept their demands they will launch an agitation against the Government.
