BHOPAL: The All India Radio will organise a music competition to identify and promote young talents in the field of music.
The competition will be organised in two phases. The first phase will be organised at the Bhopal station of the AIR. The contestants selected in the first phase will compete at the national level. Their recordings would be sent to AIR Delhi (Hindustani music) and AIR, Chennai (Carnatic music).
The contestants should be between 16 and 24 years of age. They will have a pay a fees of Rs 500 through demand draft payable to DDO, Prasar Bharati, Akashwani Bhopal along with their application forms. The last date for submission of entries is June 9.
The contest will be held in three segments: singing (classical, semi-classical and folk), instrumental Music (classical, semi-classical and folk) and chorus (group singing). The winner will get a cash prize of Rs 4000 while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 3000. Both will be recommended for grading as grade-2 artists of the AIR. The forms are available at the Bhopal station of the AIR.
