BHOPAL: AICC general secretary and a known Kamalnath camp-follower Sajjan Singh Verma, on Tuesday, launched a frontal attack on the PCC chief Arun Yadav saying that the Madhya Pradesh unit of the party had “weakened during his stewardship” and demanded that Kamalnath should take over the reins of the state PCC. Talking to media persons, Verma said that Arun Yadav was given the post because his father was a veteran leader of the party. But he did not come up to the expectations.
“It was assumed that he would be able to draw youths to the party but that did not happen and the party has turned weaker under his leadership”, Verma added.
He also said that if Nath takes over the leadership of the party, the Congress may hope for a win in the 2018 assembly polls.
He said that the process of selection of candidates should be started in advance so that the party leaders have ample time to assess the winnability of the candidates.
