BHOPAL: ‘Acting’ top functionaries are being replaced with fulltime ones in the state. After appointment of Ajay Singh as Leader of Opposition in the Vidhan Sabha in February-end, Justice Hemant Gupta will take over as the new Chief Justice of the Jabalpur High Court on Saturday.
Now, the state is awaiting appointment of a full-time governor. Sources said that the Centre is likely to appoint governors in many states, including Madhya Pradesh, after the ongoing Budget Session of the Parliament.
The term of former governor Ramnaresh Yadav had ended in August last year. Since then, Gujarat governor Om Prakash Kohli is holding the charge of Madhya Pradesh too. The Centre may appoint Union minister Kalraj Mishra, who has crossed 75 years of age, former Gujarat chief minister Anandiben Patel and some other senior BJP leaders as governors.
