Bhopal: ABVP activists created ruckus at the concluding day of Indian History Congress on Thursday protesting holding of an exhibition on ‘Jinnah’s Dream Pakistan’ at the event.
ABVP national working committee member Banti Chouhan alleged that an exhibition on Jinnah’s was put up at the event; the claim refuted by the event organising member Aditya Mikherjee. Police was called to bring the situation under control. On the conclusion of the three-day event, Congress passed a five resolutions including the condemnation of Pulwama attack and to take measure to wipe out terror.
One of the research scholar of JNU Centre for Media Studies Mithilesh Priyadarshi, addressing the session ‘Gandhi After 2014’, said it was only after October 2, 2014 that the day was marked as ‘Swachhta Diwas’ in India, whereas since 2007 at international platform the day is known as a Truth and Non Violence Day.
The whole rightist ideology of Gandhi does not fits with the political ideology in present political scenario, said Priyadarshi, adding, “Gandhi is divided into two parts – his Khadi, sanitation, Swadeshi has been followed, but the principal ideology like peace non-violence, communal harmony have been left out.” Gandhian Anuradha Shankar highlighted the role and participation of Kasturba Gandhi in Mahatma Gandhi’s struggle for freedom. She underlined the love and affection of Mahatma towards ‘Ba’.
Professor Mardula Mukharjee too pointed out the Mahatma’s image has been restricted to ‘Sanitation’ in the present scenario, while the rest of his personality has been elapsed. While discussing the ‘Religious Coordination and Communal Harmony’, subject, professor Kunal Chakraborty spoke on the changes that have cropped in worship system mentioned in Vedas to Puran.
Professor RP Bahuguna threw light on medieval age during which Sufi and Kabir-Raidas culture played vital role in establishing communal harmony in the nation.
Professor Ali Nadeem Rizvi discarded the claim of religious clash during the Mughal era, he claimed that the it was one of the best time of communal harmony compared with any other eras of history.
