Even as only six days remain for the announcement of election results, MP government is all set to take a loan of Rs 800 crore from the market. The loan is being taken, in the name of completing undergoing projects, for a period of ten years. A notification, has already been issued. The government has already taken loan of Rs 12,000 crore this year.
Congress has been grilling the MP government, during election campaign, over poor financial condition in the state. Congress has held government taking loan, prior to the election results, as improper. S tate Congress media cell, vice president, Bhupendra Gupta has alleged Shivraj Singh government had secretly decided to take loan of Rs 800 crore from the RBI by putting assets of the MP government at stake.
Gupta claimed that if bidding of assets does not happen in a day then the state government would not get loan. Gupta alleged that the state government was on the verge of being bankrupt. Gupta asked as what was the urgency of taking loan when less than a week was left for the formation of new government.
Gupta urged the Election Commission to inquire as to whether permission from the cabinet was taken or not. Gupta demanded that if permission was not taken then it immediate ban on taking new loan should be put and action on the officers concerned be taken.
