Bairgarh police seized 34 LPG cylinders from a refilling godown on Monday. Police found the illegally stored LPG cylinders at the godown when it had gone to attend a call on fire at a shop. Police got a message about fire at Bhole Electricals shop. While fire was brought under control, shop owner Suresh Ramchandani, his son Golu alias Umesh and shop staffer Shillu sustained 50 per cent burns in the incident. Trio was taken to Hamidia Hospital for treatment.
While dousing the fire, police team spotted LPG cylinder in the godown adjacent to the Electricals shop. During search, police recovered six big LPG cylinders and three refillers from godown, also owned by Suresh Ramchandani. Thereafter a police team led by SHO Ajay Mishra also conducted searches at godown and recovered 7 big and 15 small LPG cylinders.
During the day-long search, 34 LPG cylinders were recovered from the godown, where the refilling of the cylinders was carried out. Case has been registered under sections 3 and 7 of Essential Commodities Act against Suresh Ramchandai.
