BHOPAL: A 24-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging self from the ceiling fan of his house on Sunday night at Nehru Nagar area under Kamla Nagar locality here. The deceased was a nursing student hailing from Shivpuri district and used to live in Bhopal in his brother-in-law’s house. The police have registered a matter under Section 174, CrPC and have found no suicide note.
According to the police, Akash Mudgal used to live with his brother-in-law posted in Bhopal as a police constable. Two days ago his brother-in-law went out of station to attend a marriage ceremony with his family. On Sunday evening he called Akash on his mobile phone but he didn’t pick up on which he asked his neighbours to check on him. The neighbours knocked the door and called him but he didn’t reply. They then peeped inside through the ventilator only to see him hanging from the ceiling fan.
They then called the police which after reaching the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. They also seized his mobile phone to check his call details to investigate the reasons behind his suicide as no suicide note was found.
