BHOPAL: Nishatpura police nabbed two vehicle lifters and recovered 18 two-wheelers worth Rs 4.5 lakh from their possession from 80 ft road. Accused were trying to sell the stolen vehicle when nabbed.
Acting on a tip off, the accused man identified as Chandresh Yadav (30), was detained during vehicle checking at 80 ft road, which failed to provide details of the vehicle and confessed of theft.
Later in the interrogation it was revealed that he, along with Mohammad Zuber (48) resident of Karond, had stolen 18 two-wheelers from different parts of the city. The police arrested Zuber.
According to the police, Chandresh, who hails from Sironj and stays in Karond, is a notorious criminal and was released on bail recently. After the bail, he stole vehicles from Karond Mandi area, People Mall parking and deserted areas of the city, dump them in Sironj and later sell the vehicles.
Chandresh has been booked for 8 cases of theft and arms act by Nishatpura, Talaiya and Shahjehanabad police. Nishatpura police have registered a case under section 379 of the IPC and 41 (1-4) of CrPC.
