BHOPAL: A 10-year-old girl was killed in a road accident at Lalghati under Gunga police station on Sunday. An irate mob damaged the dumper which crushed her. She died on the spot. Driver Arif was beaten up and he is undergoing treatment in Peoples Hospital.
Within a week, this is the third time that a girl has died in a road accident. On March 1,a 12 Board examinee was killed when she was on the way to her examination centre while on March 2, a BE girl was killed at Chetak Bridge when she was on way to attend her coaching class with friends. In February, a CLass 10 student was killed by a rashly driven school bus at Chinar Park, Link Road no-1. she was taken to Red Cross but attending doctors declared her brought dead. As per the police, Kajal, 10, was crossing the road at Lalghati when a speeding gravel-laden dumper (MP-04-GA-4216) crushed her. The dumper was coming from Ratua to Bhopal.
SHO Chain Singh Raghuvanshi said, “The deceased’s family members work with a crusher. A rashly driven dumper laden with ‘gitti’ crushed Kajal, 10, daughter of Mukesh. The mob was about to set the truck afire. But the police rushed to the spot and intervened into the matter.”
