BHOPAL: There is hardly any difference between proclivity of the government employees and private commercial complex builders/developers as far as parking lots are concerned. Arera Hills, which houses a large number of government offices, is a glaring example as government offices are using roadside space as parking lots. The government offices are at least not supposed to follow the same pattern which private builders have set just for their own profit.
The business factor is clearly the only reason for commercial complexes to use basement for opening shops instead of providing parking lot to people. But when government establishments do not have provision for any kind of parking lots, it is a matter of serious concern. At Arera Hills many government offices is hardly have their own sufficient space for parking vehicles of officials, employees and visitors. Consequently, cars are parked on road side using footpath which are even paved by the offices just to stake claim of notified parking allowing no space to pedestrians.
