BHOPAL: April Fools’ Day is the day of pranks for which people plan days ahead. It sometimes turn into an experience of a lifetime for those who plan and execute it wisely and make sure that there is no stone left unturned for making a fool of someone. Making memories forever, these people experienced pranks which they remember even after years. While one of them was landed in deep trouble, another gave a sweet surprise to his friend. One fell prey to his friend’s prank while another fell prey to the notorious nature of the day.
“Before April 1, I got a call from my ex-girlfriend and she wanted to meet me. I asked her why and where. So she asked me to meet her at her own house as nobody would be there. I went to her house in the morning on the day fixed and it was April 1. I found the main gate closed. So I jumped the boundary wall and entered the compound and started calling her. When the door opened, it was her mother; and then followed her father, uncle and almost everyone in the house. Initially I was shocked and immediately gathering all me senses I stepped back, jumped off the boundary wall, and ran from there. Later, I found that it was my brother who had planned this prank with his friend and it was his friend who had called me. I was saved by seconds that day,” says Shubham and laughs.

“I went to Mumbai to surprise one of my friends. To make sure that she did not doubt me, I told her that I was coming and blocked her number. After reaching Mumbai, I called her and asked her to meet at the station. She came with a friend and I kept them waiting for an hour and after that I called her up and told her it was a prank. She got so furious that she did not receive my call as I followed her in the station. When they were about to board a train, I had to shout loudly to stop her. She was actually surprised and extremely happy to see me there. This prank was rather very sweet,” said Abhishek.

“It was during college. My friends planned an outing to a water park and they planned it in such a way that I was convinced that they were going. Since I was not going, they left no stones unturned to call me there. I bunked my classes and drove till Crescent Water Park and there was no one. Absolutely nobody. That day I actually had to go to the water park alone because I was so exhausted and it was so hot that day that I could not return just then. I was annoyed initially but as you can see, I am laughing at it today. Such pranks should be experienced by everyone.”

“My brother’s birthday falls on April 1. We organised a party for his birthday. We had a new neighbour. When I went to invite him, he refused saying he would not fall prey to my prank. I went to him thrice. And he kept saying that he would not. Lastly, my father had to go and invite him and then he was convinced that it was not a prank. Such a day this April 1 is. Most of my friends laugh just knowing my brother’s birthday falls on April 1.”

“We have played many pranks in childhood but this one I remember very clearly. We all brothers and sisters were sleeping. Suddenly my brother woke up showing the watch that it was already 6:30. We all got up and sped to get ready for school. Within minutes we all were ready for school. When we went out, we found that it was evening 6:30 not morning. We kept laughing the whole evening that day. Childhood is such a beautiful memory if you have such experience.”
