Katni : Agitated with the nonpayment of salary from past six months, the labors working under MGNREGA, reached the collector’s office and complained about the situation.
The labourers who were led by MLA Sandeep Jaiswal and Katni Janpad president Kanhaiya Tiwari told the collector that they have already complained to Tehsildar, SDM and Zila Panchayat CEO but they haven’t been paid from last six months as a result of which they are facing a financial crisis. They also told that they have been working under the construction work operated by Gram Panchayat.
After the work was completed, they went to the Gram Panchayat to take their wages, the Sarpanch and secretary said that they don’t have fund and threw them out of their office. After this incident, they complained to Tehsildar, Janpad Panchayat CEO and even in collector’s public hearing but no result came out. On Tuesday, in another public hearing, all the labors collectively reached the collector’s office and demanded for the immediate payment of salary.
