BHOPAL : The district and sessions court of Bhopal settled 1m300 cases of a NGO – Public Legal Forum – at one go in National Lok Adalat on Saturday. ADJ Kashianth Singh settled all the 1300 cases filed by the NGO at one go.
Public Legal Forum president Advocate Rajkumar Pandey said, “I had filed 1,300 cases against 1,300 schools of the state capital over their poor services for the students.
I had raised the issues like pure water should be available in the schools for the students, it is responsibility of the schools to make arrangement of medical facilities if students sustain any injuries and schools should provide conveyance. Today, ADJ Kashinath Singh called District Education Office and settled all the 1,300 cases at one go. It is first incident in history of judiciary that 1300 cases of a NGO have been settled at one go.”
Earlier, 13,101 cases were settled and Rs 26,18,02,195 (26.19crore) was awarded to claimants. Nearly 8172 cases of revenue nature were settled. 198 cases of gas victims were settled and an amount of Rs 5,36,10,444 was awarded. Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) settled 2,082 cases of Rs 1,70,33,795. Nearly 9,247 cases were settled at pre-litigation stage.
The Lok Adalat disposed off varieties of the cases like civil cases, criminal, matrimonial disputes, cheque bounce, cases at pre-litigation stage, civic bodies’ cases, accidental cases and electricity cases.
