Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarti Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest at RGPV, alleging that huge financial irregularity has been done in the name of sports complex construction on Monday. They said despite spending crores of rupees, the sports complex is still incomplete.
After demonstration, they handed over a memorandum to the registrar in the name of Vice Chancellor. They demanded action within six days against those who are guilty of financial irregularities. They alleged that Rs 16.50 crore was sanctioned for construction of the sports complex in 2015. The sum increased to Rs 19.16 crore in 2019 and the construction work was given to CPA which gave information of spending Rs 23.52 crore.
Even then, the construction of sports complex remains incomplete. Out of the proposed six basketball courts, only four have been constructed. ABVP threatened to do phased movement if demands were not met.
